Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) To determine the application of ballast water in MV. Skoon A Panama (2) To find out about the bareboat charter party system on MV. Skoon A Panama (3) To find out the optimization of the application of ballast water to the bareboat charter party system on MV. Skoon A Panama. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. The data obtained through interviews and observations were then analyzed using a deductive mindset. The data that the author refers to is the Payload Document data from December 2022 to January 2023. From the results of this study it can be seen that: (1) Operational implementation is carried out to improve management on the ship MV.Skoon A Panama, by controlling the records and condition of the equipment. By familiarizing the new crew again, as well as operational procedures for using the ballast pump, they are given a procedural placard that the chief engineer knows and provides an explanation of the operation in a language the crew understands, using English and Chinese. (2) That the MV. Skoon A Panama is a ship owned by Skoon Bulk Shipping Co.ltd, and leased to Long Win International Shipping Co.ltd where the charter is through a bareboat charter party system agreed by both parties, and written in The Agreement of entrusting. (3) Whereas the application of ballast water management to the bareboat charter system on MV.Skoon A Panama is not optimal because the human error crew is not familiar with the operation of ballast pumps so that damage occurs which then delays the ship at the port and has to pay demurrage resulting in the cost of the applicable price.
